• The house will sleep a maximum of 14 and the apartment a maximum of 6.

2. Is there a daily rate for the house in the off-season?

• The daily rate is $200 per night plus tax. There is a three night minimum stay required.

3. Does the house have air conditioning?

• The house does not have air but it does have ceiling fans in every room and box fans in all the bedrooms and also downstairs. The apartment does have air as well as fans for every room.

4. What do I need to bring?

• We ask our guests to bring sheets and towels. The house has two full size beds and eight twins along with a queen size sleeper sofa. The apartment has one queen size bed, two twins, and a queen size sleeper sofa.

5. Are pillows provided?

• Yes, but you might want to bring your own if you have a favorite you can't sleep without.

6. If I can't bring linens are sheets available?

• Yes, for an additional $100 plus tax.

7. What are the housekeeping rules?

• We love Gullhaven and expect you to treat it as if it were your own. Jeri and I live in the upper apt on the north end of the building. If something breaks or doesn't work properly please let us know so we can fix it. We understand that accidents happen but we will charge you for damages done due to negligence. If you leave the house filthy we will add a surcharge for cleaning and deduct this from your deposit. We would prefer that if you color your hair or use liquid acne products that you bring old towels to stand on, as these products can bleach or stain our bath mats requiring us to have to replace them.

8. What is the deposit?

•  We charge a deposit of $400 to reserve your week. $200 is deducted from your bill when you arrive. The other $200 is refunded when you check out and there is no damage or extraordinary cleaning requirements because the house was not left in acceptable condition at check out time. Payment is expected upon arrival.

9. What are quiet hours?

• Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm. to 8:00 am the following morning.

10. Is the house suitable for family reunions?

• We have had dozens of happy family reunions over the years. The house is perfect for family reunions because everyone can be together in the great room and still have bedrooms for each family without making some people sleep on the floor or in a cramped loft in quarters that are not as big as you were led to believe.

11. Have you had any weddings at Gullhaven?

• We have had both people being married at Gullhaven and family's of the wedding parties staying with us family reunion style.

12. Are pets allowed?

• Pets are considered on a case by case basis.
• Steve reserves the final right to say yes or no. We do not want to see pets tied up or left alone to cause damage. We love them and want to see them treated kindly. Also we have several cats and don't want to see a conflict with our doggy guests. Give us a call and we will discuss your situation.

13. What grocery stores are nearby?

• Sturgeon Bay has two large stores within five minutes of Gullhaven. They are Pick-N-Save and Econo Foods. There is also a Wal-Mart next to Econo.

14. Is smoking allowed?

• We prefer that you smoke outdoors. Please do not leave your butts littering the ground.

15. Will the apt be rented to strangers when we are there?

•  No. The only occupants of the apt besides your family will be when my brother visits me for one week in the summer.

16. Is there a cancellation policy?

• Your deposit confirms your rental week. If you need to cancel we will refund your deposit if we rent to another party the week you had reserved. If the house doesn't rent for that week we will keep your deposit.

17. Can I rent for less than a week?

•  We consider shorter rentals during the off season. Typically this means weekend rentals.

18. What are check-in and check-out times?

•  Check-in time is 3:00 Sat afternoon. Check-out time is 9:00 am the following Sat. morning. This allows our cleaning crew adequate time to thoroughly clean Gullhaven. Your adherence to these times is greatly appreciated.

19. When are you open?

• Gullhaven's season runs from the third week in June till the end of October. We will consider renting at other times on a case by case basis.

20. Are there any boats for me to use?

• The dinghy can be used to ferry passengers back and forth from the mooring if you are using the mooring during your stay.

21. Can I dock my boat in the lagoon?

• Yes, the lagoon is the perfect place to keep your boat. You will only have to launch it once during your stay instead of every time you want to use it and it will be protected from all wind directions.

22. Can I rent a boat?

• Yes, there are boat rentals at nearby Snug Harbor. You can rent everything from jet skis to pontoon boats and you can keep them in the lagoon if you have arranged for a long term rental or just for the day.

23. Is there a charge for sailing?

•  No, I love to introduce our guests to the joys of sailing. I want sailing memories to be a part of your stay at Gullhaven and do not charge anyone who would like to go.

24. Is there a shipwreck off the beach?

• Yes, there are two. They are both charted. We'll tell you more when you visit us.

25. What is the beach like?

• The beach is a sand beach that gradually tapers off into Sturgeon Bay. During low water years it is necessary to walk out about 100 feet to be able to swim in front of the house. The beach also borders the lagoon. Here the drop off is quick and you can swim right away without wading out. There is a fire ring and umbrellas for your pleasure on the beach.

26. Do you provide lawn chairs?

• Yes, we have some but we advise our guests to bring their own to insure enough for everyone.

27. Is the house handicap accessible?

• Yes, if the sleeper sofa is used for sleeping downstairs. There is a shower with a grab bar downstairs as well. All the bedrooms are on the second floor, however.

28. Is the apt handicap accessible?

• Yes, everything is on the first floor. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination for your selection.

29. Where can I get help if something breaks?

•  Jeri and I live above the downstairs apt. We are here if you need us and to take you sailing.

30. Do the owners live on the site?

•  Yes, Jeri and I live above the downstairs apt and are here to assist you if you need us.

31. Are there medical facilities nearby?

• Door county Memorial Hospital and Aura Health Care are both located in Sturgeon Bay six minutes from Gullhaven. If you need it help is nearby.

32. Besides shopping what is there to do in Sturgeon Bay?

• There are the Maritime and County Museums, the Fairfield and Mueller Art Galleries, a six plex movie theater, a first class library, a world class YMCA, Crossroads at Big Creek Nature Center, Leif Erickson Observatory, Potawatomi State Park, and several city parks and marinas for your enjoyment all in Sturgeon Bay and within 5-10 minutes of Gullhaven.
